Set in the tropical island of Trinidad, the picturesque scenes emanating from the chorus is what any foreigner will imagine paradise to be. This is juxtaposed with the harsh reality of surviving the streets of Trinidad and Tobago.

The video and song follows a young man as he struggles with his troubled past and deliberates if it truly is the source and catalyst of his current lifestyle. He was born to a single parent in a destitute home, his mother sold her body to provide food for the family and he was fathered by one of his mother's late night clients.

"New Light" also questions the auxiliary measures which should have taken up the slack when the home failed to properly raise him. These included educational, religious and government institutions. But most importantly, the song and video provides a measure of hope for young men and women who live this life.

There will always be a righteous path out of this lifestyle but it is up to the individual to choose it. The reason for this could either be an epiphany or a life threatening incident that appears to be one.

Shot over a 4 day period, Dream Reality founder, Steven M. Taylor, a multi-talented film-maker, directed an epic music video that will be remembered for years to come. The music video features well established Trinidadian actor Kearn Samuel, and award winning actress Penelope Spencer as the lead roles. Also giving a cameo appearance is the popular violinist at City Gate (Trinidad’s main bus terminal) Stanley Roach.

The video features scenes from all over Trinidad, from Paramin, Chaguaramas, Port of Spain, St. Augustine, San Fernando and San Francique.
